Alton S. Dubrock, 54, of Butler, Pa., was arrested Monday night in Bath Township after an alleged attempted home invasion.
They got him. Alton S. Dubrock was arrested by Bath Township police in a wooded area off the 4200 block of Big Spruce Drive at 7:45 p.m. Monday. Police were hunting Dubrock, 54, of Butler, Pa. Police say he tried to break into an occupied home in the 3900 block of North Shore Drive at 6:32 p.m. Monday. According to Bath Police Chief Michael McNeely, Dubrock kicked in the door of the residence, but fled once he heard a woman's screams from inside the home. "Police officers from Bath, Fairlawn, Copley and Akron set up a containment perimeter in the Crystal Shores neighborhood," said McNeely. A Tulip Drive resident called Bath Police at 11:55 a.m. Jan. 4 to report a fistfight between her two sons, ages 18 and 19, that had started nearly an hour earlier. Police said the fight stopped before they arrived. After police decided the 18-year-old startd the fight, the youth was arrested, taken to the police department for processing, and then taken to Summit County Jail.

Two 38-year-old unemployed Akron women were arrested by Fairlawn Police in the Walmart parking lot after they were seen “huffing” cans of aerosol dust remover in their vehicle. Police had to grab a can from one of the women as she inhaled in front of them. Police were called at 8:51 p.m. Dec. 20 by a Walmart employee who said another employee saw the occupants of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am inhaling from aerosol cans. Four Fairlawn officers arrived and saw several 3M Dust Remover aerosol cans scattered about the car’s interior. The product is designed to clean computer keyboards, audio/visual equipment and other items. Police asked the driver and passenger to step out of the vehicle. An area man driving a stolen dirtbike at night without lights attempted to flee from Fairlawn Police and ended up crashing in a yard in the 200 block of South Miller Road. While the man was being checked out at an area hospital, Akron Police arrested him on charges of stealing a car and running from them. Joshua “DJ” Deitch – whom Fairlawn police say is a Kent resident, while Akron Police say he lives in that city – was arrested by Fairlawn police and charged with receiving stolen property just before 1 a.m. Nov. 20. A Fairlawn officer saw a man driving a 2003 KTM 65SX dirt bike south on South Miller Road at Erie Road without lights or safety equipment. Fairlawn Police report that they confiscated more than three-quarters of a pound of marijuana early Saturday morning from a motorist traveling on I-77 near the Cleveland-Massillon Road exit. A Fairlawn officer on patrol just after 3 a.m. saw a pickup truck cross lane lines twice. The officer stopped the truck on the northbound exit ramp to Cleveland-Massillon Road and discovered the motorist, a 43-year-old Cleveland man, had a suspended driver’s license. The man, Steven I. Rickabaugh, also had two active warrants for his arrest from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the Brecksville Police Department. He was arrested. Resident's vehicle description leads officer on chase that ends with suspects crashing.
A North Revere Road resident got a scare Tuesday afternoon when three men attempted to break into her home while she was inside. Her description of the suspects' vehicle led a Bath Township Police officer on a chase that ended in a crash. According to police, the victim reported that a suspicious vehicle backed down her driveway in the 800 block of North Revere at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. She did not respond when the suspects rang the front doorbell and "pounded very hard" on the door. The suspects then backed further down the driveway and approached separate doors in the rear of the residence.
