What Do You Want in A New Revere Football Coach?

After Coach Phil Heyn's resignation, the Revere School District is looking for a replacement.

The search is on for a new head football coach at Revere High School.  Former Coach Phil Heyn resigned Nov. 20 after serving for three years. His record with the Minutemen was 4-26. "He felt that after this last season it would be in the best interest of the program if there was new leadership," Superintendent Randy Boroff said.  Read more about Heyn's resignation here. Minutemen Football Coach Phil Heyn Resigns

Heyn has been the coach for the last three years.

At Tuesday's Revere Board of Education meeting, members accepted the resignation of head football coach Phil Heyn.  Heyn has been the football coach for three years, said Superintendent Randy Boroff. Heyn is also a social studies teacher at Revere High School. "He felt that after this last season it would be in the best interest of the program if there was new leadership," Boroff said.  Heyn previously served as Revere’s baseball coach and lead the Minutemen football the last three years to a 4-26 record. He was an assistant coach the previous nine seasons, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. The Revere Minutemen  2012 football season ended with one win and nine losses. Revere High Football Coach Resigns, Says It's Time for New Leadership

Heyn is also a social studies teacher at Revere High School. "He felt that after this last season it would be in the best interest of the program if there was new leadership," Boroff said.  The Revere Minutemen  2012 football season ended with one win and nine losses. Heyn's position as coach was renewed yearly, as a supplemental contract, Boroff said.  "He has developed great relationships with the students he teaches and has coached," Boroff said.
