Bath Seeks Grant for New Warning Siren
Township wants to replace old unit with state-of-the-art model
Bath Township is seeking a grant for a pole-mounted siren that would alert residents to tornados and other emergencies. Deputy Township Administrator Vito Sinopoli said the new siren would replace a mechanical model currently in the cupola at the Fire Department and would supplement an existing siren at Revere High School. It would provide an "early warning alert for a variety of potential situations" to residents, businesses and surrounding areas, Sinopoli said. Bath is asking for a grant from the Summit County Emergency Management Agency. The grant, if awarded, would not require matching funds from the township. The siren would be installed at the Township Center.
