Fugitive Of The Week Faces Robbery, Kidnapping & Burglary Charges

Everton Gillings -- a man suspected of participating in a home invasion -- is the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s fugitive of the week

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information that leads to the capture of fugitive Everton Gillings, who is accused of robbing people at gunpoint. Gillings is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office. He faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated burglary and eight counts of aggravated robbery with a firearm. All of these charges stem from an alleged home invasion that happened in September of 2012, according to the Task Force. Gillings is a 20-year-old black man. He is about 5 feet, seven inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Gillings is believed to be hiding somewhere in the Collinwood neighborhood. Man Robs First National Bank, Police Still Looking for Suspect

On Dec. 20, a man walked into First National Bank and demanded money from two tellers, according to a Fairlawn police report. The tellers told police the man was wearing a mask, was about 5-foot, 4-inches and 160-180 pounds. He was wearing a navy blue hoodie, blue jeans and gloves.  He walked up to the counter, demanded money and left on foot after both tellers gave him an undisclosed amount of money, the report stated. He was last seen walking toward Merz Boulevard.  Police canvassed the area, but the suspect was not found. Police are still investigating.

Thieves Disable Alarms, Attempt to Rob Bath Township Homes: Crime Alert

Several Crystal Lake area homeowners in Bath Township have been victims of burglaries or attempted burglaries, according to Bath police Chief Michael McNeely. On Oct. 8 around 3:53 a.m., a North Shore Drive homeowner was stirred awake by a loud boom that he said shook the house. When the homeowner went to investigate, he found that his phones lines had been cut, disarming the alarm that alerts police, and that someone had tried to get into his home through the garage, McNeely said. McNeely is unsure what the loud boom was caused by, but it appeared that suspects were hitting the side of the garage trying to get in. Thieves were unsuccessful. McDonald's Employee Robbed At Gunpoint Outside FirstMerit

An assistant manager from McDonald's was robbed at gunpoint outside the FirstMerit Bank on Medina Road around 8:12 p.m. Wednesday, Bath police Chief Mike McNeely said. The suspect pointed the gun at the manager and demanded the bag. The manager immediately handed it over. McNeely wouldn't not disclose the amount of money in the bag. After stealing the cash, the man was last seen running across the Holiday Inn parking lot. When police searched the area, he was not found, McNeely said. The suspect is described as a male, 6 feet tall, wearing a black ski mask, dark pants and dark hooded sweatshirt. Police will continue the investigation today and interview witnesses to the crime. $200 in Coins Stolen from Parkhill Drive Apartment

On March 8, someone used a tool to pry open the door to a Parkhill Drive Apartment, according to Fairlawn police. The suspect moved several items in the apartment before settling on his cash prize, police said. The thief moved several items on the victim's dresser, which were taken in for fingerprinting. The only thing stolen from the apartment was a duffel bag filled with $200 in coins, police said. No other evidence was found.
