The Revere Board of Education meets on April 16.
When the Revere school board meets on Tuesday, April 16, they will say goodby to eight staff members who are retiring. The following teachers have submitted their resignations to retire at the end of the 2012-13 school year: The board will also look at contracts for window replacement at the middle school and ammend the agreement for student teaching with the University of Akron.

The Ohio Department of Education released preliminary report card data for schools across the state on Wednesday. The final results won’t be released until the state finishes its investigation into some districts' attendance data. Winter break ends during the first week of the year.
Students at Copley and Revere schools will start the new year sitting in a classroom. Revere students will return to school on Monday, Jan. 2 and Copley students return on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Their next day off will be for Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 16. At Copley, all of the sports banners that are hanging in the high school's main gym will be auctioned off by the Copley Adult All Sports Booster Club. The club will replace the old banners with new sport-specific banners that will list the years and accomplishments of the various championship teams. The auction will open Jan. 1 and close on May 1. Township opens recycling center in the Bath Elementary School parking lot.
Bath residents have been requesting a more convenient way to recycle for quite some time and in October, the township responded with a recycling collection center located in the Bath Elementary School parking lot. The collection center gives schools, businesses and residents who do not have curbside recycling the opportunity to recycle items. To pay for the project, the township saved grant monies it had received from the Summit Akron Solid Waste Management Authority over the past three years. "This money was saved to the specific purpose of providing a recycling center," according to a written statement from Township Administrator William Snow. "No tax or school levy money was used for the project." The location was chosen in cooperation …

Haunted Halls, a haunted house at Copley High School sponsored by the Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth (CHCY) will take place fro 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday (October 22nd) at Copley High School, 3807 Ridgewood Rd. Tickets are $6. A $1 coupon is available at www.copley-fairlawnchcy.org). Haunted Halls is geared to children who are at least middle-school age or older. There also is a CHCY adult committee meeting on the 22nd at 9:00 a.m. in the Copley High School Choir Room. Perhaps you should consider comparing the Local Tax Effort Index figures instead. That is the measure of how much tax money a district spends on schools relative to the average income/wealth in that community. These figures are also available at the ODE website.
