Nesquik Recall: Nestle Recalls Nesquik Powder from U.S. Stores

The voluntary recall involves Nesquik powder only — no other products, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Nestlé USA has announced a voluntary recall of some quantities of its Nesquik Chocolate Powder mix, which is stocked in stores nationally, due to a potential risk of salmonella contamination. The voluntary recall involves only Nesquik powder sold in 10.9-ounce, 21.8-ounce and 40.7-ounce canisters since early October, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It does not involve other sizes of Nesquik powder or Nesquick ready-to-drink products, according to the FDA. Affected products bear the UPC codes 0 28000 68230 9, 0 28000 68090 9 or 0 28000 67990 3.  The company ordered the recall after learning that a component used to make the powder may have been contaminated with salmonella, which can cause abdominal ailments.
