Check Out the Best “Decked” House in Stow

You voted and this house was the top local vote-getter in our Deck the House contest.

Who has the best “decked” house in Fairlawn and Bath? Well, no one. But there is a pretty swell house in Stow that's decked to the hills. According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, this home has the best holiday lights in all of Stow. We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. We loved showcasing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. We’re still looking for the one home so spectacularly decorated that it could be the national grand prize winner of our contest. We will choose 24 …

Did you decorate your house for the holidays this year? Enter our "Deck the House" contest and you could win $100,000 for your local school district and $500 to pay your electric bills!

We’re launching our annual Deck the House Contest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America — the best “decked” house in the country —the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16 here. Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. Patch will pay up to $500 of the utility bill for each finalist, while our national winner will have $100,000 donated to his or her local school district. Our Town Didn't Win, But One School Did

California residents won Deck the House contest.

The Powell family, of Davis, California, took Patch's national Deck the House contest seriously. And thanks to Patch, some children will have more learning tools at their school to become well-rounded, knowledgeable adults.  Some of the Powell's children and family friends handed out flyers around the area promoting the family's decked out house.  This effort is part of what got the Powells the lead after making it in the 24 finalists group. The final goal was to climb to the top to win the $100,000 for local schools.  With the help of media company Davis Enterprise, local and online support and the kids, the family reached their goal.  "We all won," Kristy Powell said, who works at Birch Lane Elementary.
