How Much Money Do Revere and Copley-Fairlawn Schools Receive Each Year?

Take a look at the most recent revenue numbers for school districts across the state. If you're viewing this on your mobile device, switch to desktop version.

How does funding for the Revere and Copley-Fairlawn school districts compare with neighboring communities? The information in the searchable database above can be found on the Ohio Department of Education’s website. The revenue amounts listed are for the 2010-2011 school year, the most recent numbers available. These numbers have likely changed since then — and could change again in the next state budget — so this is just for comparison.  To see your local school district’s revenue for 2010-2011, type in all or part of the district name above. (If there are multiple districts with the same name, check the Ohio Department of Education’s district number.)  You can also search by local, state, federal or total revenue for 2010-2011 by …

New Principal Hired at Copley High School

Assistant will take the reins, school board decides

Copley High School has a new principal, and it's a familiar face. The Copley-Fairlawn City School board this week approved a two-year contract for Matt Young, who has been assistant principal at the high school for the last year, to take over as principal. Young replaces Cameron Ryba, who resigned prior to the 2012-2013 school year to become assistant superintendent for the Strongsville City Schools. Young taught science with the district for 17 years before becoming assistant principal. A news release from the School Board says Young's "effective leadership and willingness to accept additional responsibilities throughout the year have not only provided him with the necessary experience for his new position but has also proven his value …

Copley-Fairlawn, Revere Schools Cancel Tuesday Classes

Several Copley-Fairlawn parents got a cancelation phone call from the district Monday night.

Copley-Fairlawn Superintendent Brian Poe and Revere Superintendent Randy Boroff have canceled school for Tuesday, Oct. 30, according to several parents on Fairlawn-Bath Patch's Facebook page. One parent, who got reverse 411 calls, said school was canceled because Hurricane Sandy is expected to create wind gusts up to 70 mph. "If we're going to have sustained winds of 70 mph, it's not safe for our students who are walking, driving or being on a bus," Poe said. "The reason we did it so early is because we wanted parents to know as soon as possible to make arrangements and because we were confident we'd have the same forecast tomorrow morning."

How Do the Copley-Fairlawn & Revere Schools Rate?

Compare local districts with our searchable database.

The state has released the rest of the state report card information, and the news is good for both Copley-Fairlawn and Revere schools. While the data is still preliminary, as of now, the Revere district has again achieved the highest possible state report card rating for the 13th year in a row: “Excellent with Distinction.” Copley-Fairlawn earned the same rating, improved from last year's "Excellent." School and district report cards are usually released at the beginning of the school year, but that timeline has been pushed back while the state auditor investigates whether some districts manipulated attendance data. Some preliminary data—without the ratings—was released in late September. The final results and the PDFs of the report cards…
