Woman Previously Banned from Express Shoplifts Again

On Dec. 28, employees in Summit Mall's Express store saw a woman who was previously banned in 2009 shopping around, according to a Fairlawn police report. The 21-year-old Akron woman was approached by mall security and the officer saw stolen clothing sticking out from under her clothes, the report stated. The woman had managed to stuff $501 of clothes under hers. Police charged the woman with theft and criminal trespass. She was taken to the Summit County Jail and banned from Summit Mall, the report stated.

This person came back to the same store to steal again because the punishment was too lax the first time. Why doesn't the law JAIL repeat offenders? Because it would 'hurt' their feelings? I'm sure the store owners just love knowing this idiot will probably be back by the time the ink has dried on her court papers. Let repeat offenders serve a sentence in Afghanistan.
