Man Tells Pharmacist He Has Gun, Steals $1K in Pills

Information provided by the Fairlawn Police Department.

A man walked in Walgreens on May 30 and passed the pharmacist a note saying he had a gun, according to a Fairlawn police report. The man demanded the pharmacist give him all the oxycodone and acetaminophen of specific strengths in the pharmacy, the report said. The pharmacist gathered five bottles of Percocet, valued at $1,151, and put it in a store bag. She set the bag on the counter and turned around to get more, but the man grabbed the bag and ran. A store employee saw him running across West Market Street toward Riviera Lanes, but when police searched the area, they couldn't find him, the report said.

Drunk Richfield Man Caught Trying to Burglarize Lenox Village Home

A Lenox Village woman was startled out of sleep at 2:45 a.m. on May 5 when she heard someone repeatedly ringing her doorbell and banging on her door, a Fairlawn police report said. The woman got out of bed and heard the person jiggling her door handle. When she looked outside, she told police she saw a man walking toward the parking lot, and then heard someone climbing up her second story patio wall, the report said. The woman quickly called police and locked her patio door, the report said. When police arrived, they searched the outside area and didn't find anyone, but saw that a first-floor patio chair had been knocked over. Thousands in Jewelry Stolen from 2 Olentangy Drive Homes in Same Day

Two homes in the 2400 block of Olentangy Drive were burglarized some time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on April 27, according to Bath police. In the first home, suspects busted out a sliding glass door and stole several pieces of silver and gold jewelry, valued around $20,000, Chief Michael McNeely said. However, the suspects left two aluminum baseball bats in the residence. In the second house, the suspects forced open a back window. McNeely said jewelry was stolen, but he didn't know the value. McNeely said the burglaries are related and are similar to burglaries that happened that same day in Fairlawn and Copley. The department is following up on several leads.

Chamberlain Road Apartment Burglarized, Computers Stolen

On March 31, someone broke into an apartment in the 2600 block of Chamberlain Road by forcing open the front door, Fairlawn police said. The suspects rifled through the living room, moving several objects, which have been taken for fingerprinting, according to police. Theives stole $3,370 of computer equipment, including two computers, a monitor and mouse. Police said the they then left the apartment through a different door.

Stanley Road Woman's Home Burglarized, Nothing Stolen

On March 20, a woman left her Stanley Road home around 6 p.m. and came back to find that someone had tried to break in in several places, Fairlawn police said. Police said someone tried to pry open the lock on the man door of the garage, the screen on the kitchen window and the basement window well cover was broken. The main entry door was also tampered with but the suspect did not get into the house and nothing was taken. There are no suspects.

Fairlawn Police Blotter: Road Rage On Video at Summit Mall and More

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fairlawn police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Assault, aggravated menacing -- Officers were called to Summit Mall at 1:58 p.m. Aug. 18 to investigate two groups of people who were accusing each other after a fight.  Both parties said they were driving west on W. Market Street in a school zone and ended up at Summit Mall. From there, the accounts differ. Silenthia Brown, of Akron, told police she was driving when a car swerved into her lane. She said she was confronted by Simon Fulmer, the driver of the car, and passenger Sarah Shaughnessy, both of Akron, in the mall parking lot.  Fulmer told police they saw Brown driving well over the speed limit on W. Bath Township Man Found Unconscious; Burglar Sought

71-year-old victim suffers head trauma.

Bath police are seeking a burglary suspect who is believed to have attacked the resident, leaving the victim with severe head trauma. Police returned Tuesday to seek more evidence from the scene of the crime, 685 Lois Dr., which took place on or before June 27. A representative of Mobile Meals found David J. Allen, 71, out of his wheelchair and unconscious on the family room floor about noon on June 27 and called Bath EMS. Police were called in when EMS noticed apparent signs of a ransacking. Several rooms had been turned over. Allen was taken to Akron General Medical Center for treatment and later transferred to another health care facility. Bath Police: Burglary Suspect Caught Near Scene of Break-In

Fairlawn police assist in setting containment for arrest.

Bath and Fairlawn police joined forces to catch an Akron man suspected of burglarizing a Bath home early Sunday morning. Police were called early Sunday by an alarm to a Bath home and found a smashed sliding door in the back of the house. Police noticed a suspicious car parked nearby and apprehended a suspect on Pinepoint Drive near the scene as well.  Richard T. Price of Akron is charged with receiving stolen property and is being held in Summit County jail.  More charges are expected as police investigate, Bath Police Chief  Michael McNeely said.  The car, a 1995 Mazda Protege, had been reported stolen in Akron, police said. Price does not match a description given to police of a suspect in another recent burglary.

Bath Police Blotter: Burglar Confronted in Home

Two fraudulent claims of big bills from AT&T, another sick raccoon.

A burglar was confronted in a residence on the 500 block of West Point Avenue on April 20, when the son of the resident called out for his mother. A white male, 30-35 years old, approached the son with a pry bar, police said. The intruder said he was looking for the resident. The son said the intruder left in a navy pickup truck with no front license plate and turned on Ghent Road toward Fairlawn. Police responded but did not find a suspect.  • A resident of the 4300 block of Fryman Drive reported a burglary between 12:30 and 4:15 p.m. April 20. Trio of warrant arrests; misdemeanor arrests; broken windows.

Benjamin H. Bishop of the 1100 block of Gardner Blvd. was arrested on charges of drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse instruments and theft on April 19. It all started with a theft. Police said Bishop left the Giant Eagle store on West Market Street with sports trading cards valued at $78.74 without paying. After being apprehended by security at the store, police also found 2 grams of heroin, a syringe and a spoon, police said. Bishop was taken to Summit County Jail.
