Police: Revere Teen Reports Being Sexually Assaulted at Basketball Game

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

The Bath Police Department is investigating a report of sexual assault that happened at a Revere High School basketball game in December, according to a police report. Police Chief Michael McNeely said a 15-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted to the Richfield Police Department, who then called BPD. McNeely said the schools have been notified and are cooperating with police. He added that no school employees are suspects in the alleged offense. There is no identified suspect, McNeely said. The description provided is a white male teen. "Anytime we receive a report of any alleged serious incident we contact our local police so the alleged incident can be thoroughly investigated," said Superintendent Randy Boroff in an email. "It …

Woman Locks Keys in Car, Gets Busted for Having Drugs

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

On Jan. 24, a 30-year-old Akron woman called police because she locked her keys in her car, according to a Bath Township police report.  When officers arrived and got the woman's door open, the smell of marijuana wafted out of the car, the report stated. When police asked the woman if she had any, she admitted there was a marijuana roach in the ashtray.  Police charged the woman with drug abuse and she was released at the scene.

17-Year-Old Caught With Drugs After Simple Traffic Violation

What started as a simple traffic violation turned into something more for a 17-year-old Copley boy. On Jan. 19, Bath police pulled over a car heading west on Smith Road for not having a back license plate light, a report stated. When the officer approached the car, he reported he could smell marijuana. A search of the car found 1 ounce of marijuana hidden under the driver's seat, the report stated. The 17-year-old driver admitted it was his. Police charged the teen with drug abuse and he was also cited for the equipment violation, the report stated. The boy was released to his father.

16-Year-Old Caught Stealing Jewelry from T.J. Maxx

On Jan. 12, T.J. Maxx security watched three girls walk into the store and start shopping, according to a Bath Township police report. Security saw one 16-year-old pick up two sets of bracelets and put them in her purse. The girl and her friends began to walk out of the store, but security stopped the 16-year-old, the report said. The girl gave security the two bracelets plus one she wore out of the store. They were valued at $58.  Police charged the girl with delinquency by means of theft and she was released to her uncle. The girl's friends are not suspected of theft.

Man Offers $500 to Woman to Get in His Car on Medina Road

An Olmsted Township woman was standing near the road in front of Acme Fresh Market when a man pulled up to talk to her, according to a Bath Township police report. The man offered the woman $500 to get in his car, but she refused. He asked the woman several more times to get in his car before driving away, the report stated. The man was driving a silver Jeep Cherokee with Michigan plates. He was white, in his late 30s with thin brown hair and a fish hook-looking scar on his face, the report stated. He was wearing a black jacket. The woman was not injured.

If he KNEW she wasn't - with absolute certainty, because of restrictions on carrying, he would have KNOWN he could over power her. Drunken, Drugged Bath Man Crashes into Mailbox and Guardrail

On Dec. 19, Bath police responded to a one-car accident in front of a home in the 4400 block of Rock Ridge Lane, according to a report. The driver, a 55-year-old Bath Township man, was outside of his car and seemed confused about where he was, the report stated. The man managed to hit someone's mailbox before crashing into a guardrail and stopping. The man had trouble understanding police officers, but did manage to say that he had taken sleeping pills and drank alcohol. In a breath test, the man blew a 0.111. The legal limit is 0.08. Police charged the man with driving under the influence, the report stated.

Hotel Guest Steals Bedding, Televisions

On Dec. 12, the general manager at the Hampton Inn in Bath Township called to report a theft of hotel merchandise, according to a Bath police report.  The manager told police someone booked two hotel rooms on the Internet and a man with a different name came in to stay in the rooms. The man told the manager his father booked the rooms for him, the report stated. At 11:30 the same day the man left the hotel and it was discovered that he broke both rooms' TV stands and the televisions had been taken. He also stole the bedding from one of the king size beds, the report stated. The items were valued at $1,900, said Chief Michael McNeely. No one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
