Show Shines Spotlight on Horses, Bath Fire Department

68th annual Horse Show draws horses and raises funds for Bath Fire Department.

The 68th annual Bath Horse Show drew owners from nearby cities and brought horses of all sizes, breeds and colors into the ring.  The horse show is the only fundraiser for the Bath Fire Department. Money raised from last weekend's show is the main source of funds to support staff training, mobile education for children on severe weather and fire safety through the Public Safety Trailer, provide free CPR training for Bath residents and upgrade equipment like the new tanker truck. Bath Horse Show Clip-Clops to Raise Money for Fire Department

The Bath Horse Show takes place July 7 and 8 near Revere High School.

If you think the Bath Fire Department has state-of-the-art equipment, it's likely thanks to you. Each year, Bath Fire Department Inc., a non-profit fund-raising agency, hosts the Bath Horse Show to raise money for the department. The money is used to buy fire equipment, such as the new tanker the department got earlier this year. The show is held at 9 a.m. on July 7 and 8 at the corner of Everett and Revere Roads, across from Revere High School. The entry fee is $5. "This year is the 68th annual show," said show Chairman Mike Marias. "It's our main fundraiser and in Bath we don't have any other fundraiser." The Bath Township Horse show has been an annual event for the last 62 years. It is the project Bath Fire Department Inc., a non-profit fund-raising agency and Bath Volunteers for Service. Here's a sneak peek of Roger Sommer's photos in Monday's Viewfinder. The horse show's last day is today (Sunday) beginning at 9 a.m. at the fire department training grounds at the corner of Everett and Revere Roads, across from Revere High School. Awards will be given in more than 70 classes.
