Bath Township Man Found Unconscious; Burglar Sought

71-year-old victim suffers head trauma.

Bath police are seeking a burglary suspect who is believed to have attacked the resident, leaving the victim with severe head trauma. Police returned Tuesday to seek more evidence from the scene of the crime, 685 Lois Dr., which took place on or before June 27. A representative of Mobile Meals found David J. Allen, 71, out of his wheelchair and unconscious on the family room floor about noon on June 27 and called Bath EMS. Police were called in when EMS noticed apparent signs of a ransacking. Several rooms had been turned over. Allen was taken to Akron General Medical Center for treatment and later transferred to another health care facility. Fairlawn Police Blotter: Assault, Theft and Counterfeit Bills

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fairlawn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Assault A Norton man was arrested Friday after an argument with another man who refused to replace him at work. According to a police report, Joshua Bonner, 18, came to the home of Alex Szalay, of Fairlawn Friday afternoon to ask that Szalay work his shift at Aladdin’s Restaurant. Witnesses said when Szalay refused to work Bonner’s shift, the man punched him in the head and fled the house. Szalay, 18, sustained a one to two-inch cut over his left eye that required stitches. Bonner showed up at the Fairlawn Police Department later that day with his mother, but he refused to give a written statement. He was charged with misdemeanor counts of assault and aggravated trespassing and was taken to the Summit County Jail. Counterfeit A salesperson…

Fairlawn Police Blotter: Trading Cards, Heroin Don’t Mix

Trio of warrant arrests; misdemeanor arrests; broken windows.

Benjamin H. Bishop of the 1100 block of Gardner Blvd. was arrested on charges of drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse instruments and theft on April 19. It all started with a theft. Police said Bishop left the Giant Eagle store on West Market Street with sports trading cards valued at $78.74 without paying. After being apprehended by security at the store, police also found 2 grams of heroin, a syringe and a spoon, police said. Bishop was taken to Summit County Jail. Arrest on warrants • Belinda West of Wakefield Avenue in Cleveland was arrested in Cleveland and taken to Fairlawn police April 22 on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of misrepresenting identity in Fairlawn.
