Fairlawn Company Opens Additive Concentrates Plant in Asia

A. Schulman Inc. opened a plant in Vadodora, India.

A. Schulman Inc. opened a new plant near the coastline of the Arabian Sea in India on April 29.  The plant will facilitate the shipment of raw materials for production and products will be sold into India's packaging, appliance and consumer markets.  The plant's initial annual production capacity will be about 22 million pounds, according to a story on Plastics News. Derek Bristow, vice president and general manager for A. Schulman's Asia-Pacific region, said in a prepared statement that the plant will be dedicated to providing solutions for flexible packaging, white goods and cosmetics manufacturers in India. Look: A. Schulman Breaks Ground for New Fairlawn Headquarters

A. Schulman is building its new headquarters on Ridgewood Road. It will be the cornerstone of Fairlawn's Corporate Business Park.

A. Schulman has made Fairlawn its corporate headquarters for the last 40 years, and it has plans to stay here for a while longer. It will sit on 4.6 acres of land that the company bought for $560,000. It will be a one-story, 34,000 square foot building that will house the U.S. headquarters, a common area and a corporate area for the Akron Product Technology Center. The plan is to have the building open and operational by spring 2013.

A. Schulman will build a new world headquarters on Ridgewood Road.

Last week, Fairlawn City Council approved a land transfer on Ridgewood Road, allowing A. Schulman to build a new world headquarters and the be anchor of Fairlawn's new Corporate Park. The building will sit on 4.6 acres of land that the company bought for $560,000. It will be a one-story, 34,000 square foot building that will house the U.S. headquarters, a common area and a corporate area for the Akron Product Technology Center. Mayor William Roth, A. Schulman President and CEO Joe Gingo and Mike Ritenour, president of Landridge Development LLC broke ground last week. The target opening date is spring 2013 and the new building will make room for 17 new jobs. Read more about the new building here.

A. Schulman to Build New Headquarters in Fairlawn

A. Schulman has been a staple on West Market since 1972, and now it's time to expand.

A. Schulman has made Fairlawn its corporate headquarters for the last 40 years, and it has plans to stay here for a while longer. At Monday's City Council Committee of the Whole meeting, representatives from A. Schulman, a $2.5 billion global plastics supplier, announced it would stay in Fairlawn and relocate to the new Corporate Park at the corner of Ridgewood and Cleveland-Massillon roads. Vice President Gary Miller said the company has grown substantially since 2009, having made five acquisitions in the past three years, the newest one being earlier this year.
