The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Dontez White.
Dontez White is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Lakewood Police for drug trafficking and firearms offenses, according to Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. White, 38, has a significant criminal history, officials said, and should be considered armed and dangerous. White is a black male standing approximately 5’06” and weighing 400 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. White is suspected to be hiding out somewhere in the Cleveland area. He also had a previous address near the 600 block of Willow Dr. in Euclid. The Ohio State Highway Patrol sent out a press release Monday morning notifying the public that state troopers will conduct a drunken driving checkpoint sometime this week. The county where the checkpoint will be set up will be announced the day before and the exact location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint. "If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don't let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired," the patrol said in a prepared statement. Firefighters were called to smoke on the east side of the city's recreation center building about 9:40 a.m. and reported to police that there was someone living there. Officers located a man walking to the area, who admitted to having a fort and cooking. The said he believed he had gotten permission to camp there. He agreed to gather up his belongings and move on. A man who was banned from Summit Mall for two years got an extra year tacked on to his exile when he showed up again -- the same day he was banned for shoplifting and leading police on a foot chase. A report said the man, 20, was apparently trying to remove an anti-theft sensor from an item in Hollister May 1 when he was approached by an employee. The man fled, running out a door, then back through the mall and into a nearby neighborhood. He was seen running through a back yard on Elia Circle and eventually found hiding in some bushes on Blue Hill Lane. He refused to come out, a report said, leading to charges of obstructing official business and resisting arrest, in additon to the theft charge for the pair of Hollister jeans in the …

Police arrested a man for drunken driving May 2 -- but not before he hit the same car twice as he tried to park. A report said the man was weaving on Cleveland-Massillon Road, swerving into oncoming traffic about 7:15 p.m. With an officer following, the man turned onto Bath Road and into the Bath Elementary School parking lot, where he tried to pull into a parking space, striking another car. He then tried to back out, but, with police blaring a siren, he stopped, a report said. The officer told him to put the vehicle in park, but he did not, and the car rolled forward, hitting the same car for a second time. The officer had to reach in the window and put the car in park himself, the report said. The man failed field sobriety tests. …

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Deandre Peterson.
Deandre Peterson is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff for escape, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for conditions of release violations and the Cleveland Division of Police for domestic violence. Peterson had an original charge of drug possession. The domestic violence charge stems from an incident when Peterson kicked in the door at the home belonging to the mother of his child in January of this year. Peterson, 31, is a black male standing approximately 5’09” and weighing 183 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Authorities suspect Peterson is hiding out somewhere in Cleveland. Police were called to Lois Drive about 11 p.m. May 3 about a lot of kids partying in a vacant house. They arrived to find the caller wasn't exaggerating -- a report said the road was lined with cars and there were at least 100 juveniles present. They located the homeowner's son, who acknowledged the party had gotten out of hand. He also admitted that some people had been drinking alcohol. Officers did not see any juveniles drinking while they were there. The owner's son was issued a summons to appear in court on charges. Bath police and other neighboring departments are asking parents to avoid situations like this one by registering their graduation parties with their local police department.

A fast-talking con man swindled an employee at JoAnn Fabric on Medina Road out of nearly $100 April 21. A report said the man went to a register to buy a pack of needles for $1.58. He then used a quick-change technique to confuse the cashier into giving him various denominations of bills for change. He ended up leaving with $99.81. The only description of the suspect was a middle-aged African American man.

A witness asked police to check out a group of suspicious juveniles outside a building on South Miller Road April 27. Officers determined the kids were just playing and not doing anything wrong. But the older brother of one of the kids arrived on the scene -- and while he wasn't doing anything wrong, either, he had in the past, a report said. Police said there was an active warrant from Copley police for the 21-year-old for failing to pay fines stemming from an assault case. He was arrested and turned over to Copley. No Going Back Two shoppers were banned for life from Exchange on West Market Street for allegedly stealing. A report said the male and female stole an X Box controller worth $50 on April 19.
