Florence Helena Sturkey, 70, passed away on April 16. Born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Sturkey spent much of her career teaching Copley-Fairlawn City Schools, Revere Local Schools and the University of Akron, according to Legacy.com. Heiney passed away on March 16.
Dennis Heiney, 59, of Fairlawn, passed away on March 16. Dennis is survived by his wife Renee, according to tributes.com. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel, 141 N. Meridian St. The funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22 at Spicer Crislip with Pastor Dallas Sanford officiating. Burial will take place in Grandview Memorial Park following the service.

Taylor died Saturday; had been ill since a heart attack in 2009.
In 1982, Gary L. Taylor began a consulting company with his wife in the breezeway of their home. The company they named InfoCision was founded to develop telemarketing programs for its clients using an independent telemarketing contractor. Today InfoCision is the second-largest privately held teleservices company in the world, employing more than 4,000 people in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The company provides direct marketing services for Fortune 100 companies and nonprofit organizations. Taylor, 59, died on Saturday. He became ill three years ago after suffering a heart attack, according to the company's website. Death notice for Fairlawn resident
Betty Jane Clement, 86, passed away on February 23, at the Village at St. Edward in Fairlawn, according to an obituary in the Akron Beacon Journal. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 25, 1926 to the late Henry and Ida Buchter, Betty had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident since 1957. She retired from the M. O'Neil Co. in 1983, where she had worked as a comparison shopper for the president of the company. She was the founder of the Cuyahoga Falls Widow to Widower's Group, and was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls VFW Ladies' Auxiliary, Cuyahoga Falls Moose Club, and the Eagles Aerie #2207. Died Jan. 30 at his home
Robert Stephen Bender died at home on January 30, 2013, surrounded by his family after a short illness, according to Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Benedictine High School in 1947, where he played basketball and football. He was offered a football scholarship to Wittenberg University but stayed in Cleveland and attended John Carroll University. A natural athlete, he excelled in every sport from baseball to water polo. As an amateur boxer, he was undefeated in 26 bouts as a middleweight, including a decision over Cleveland's Jackie Keough, who later fought Randy Turpin for the World Middleweight title. Isabelle George co-founded the iconic west Akron restaurant with husband Ed George.
Isabelle George, founder of Bell Music and the Tangier restaurant, died Jan. 15 at the age of 101, reports the Akron Beacon Journal. The family moved to the Akron area shortly after and Bernie spent his entire adult life in the area. Bernie graduated from Akron Garfield High School in 1957 and entered the Marine Corp shortly after. He married his beloved wife, Nancy Pietrangelo, on Nov. 30, 1963. Bernie spent his professional career as a State Farm agent serving the West Akron area, retiring in 2011.
