MAP: Bath Community Garage Sale Locations

Bath Township will hold its first community-wide garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The first-ever Bath Community Garage Sale takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 16 at 109 individual homes around the community.

The event is sponsored by the Bath Township Business Association and any proceeds from the BBA-sponsorship of the Bath Community Garage Sale will help fund the BBA support of monetary awards to Revere High School students competing in the annual Business Plan competition in the high school business classes.

The location of each Garage Sale participant will be highlighted on a detailed map, which is available in the June Bath Country Journal.  Extra maps will be available the day of the sale for $1.50 from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot. Or you can use the interactive map above. Click the pushpin to see what each location offers.

The day of the sale, each official Garage Sale participant will be identified by a bright green, numbered sign and balloons. Participation in the sale is limited to Bath residents and businesses.

“Our goal is to provide a safe way for our residents and businesses to sell and exchange a variety of items,” said Bill Snow, Bath Township administrator. “Hopefully, this event will be a safer outlet than having individual garage sales every weekend in the township.”

Members of Bethany Christian Church, 2300 N. Cleveland-Massillon Road, will  serve free hot dogs, chips and sodas from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, as a way to introduce themselves to the community.

Also, the BBA is working with Teresa Davey, on behalf of the International Institute of Akron for the donation of left-over garage sale items that can be used to help the many immigrants coming to the area from the refugee camps in Thailand, Myanmar and Bhutan. More information about the International Institute and the kinds of items they seek can be found at the website www.iiakron.org.

Davey of Bath can be contacted before and during the garage sale to answer questions about appropriate donations and to arrange for those donations to the II.  Davey can be contacted at 330-807-5745 or by e-mail at teresa@stresshq.com.
