Cleveland Indians Offering Baseball Summer Camp for Bath Kids

The camps feature two 2-hour sessions and comprehensive teaching; participants receive two free tickets, walk in on-field parade

Batter up, kids! 

The Cleveland Indians is offering a summer camp for children ages 6-14 in eight area suburbs, including Bath Township

Each camp cosists of two 2-hour sessions and will take a comprehensive approach to teaching the game of baseball. Summer Camp instructors will focus on throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and base running, according to a prepared statement. At the completion of the second day of camp, each child will receive a fair evaluation and additional advice on how to improve their game.

“Indians Summer Camps provide us an opportunity to teach the fundamentals of the great game of baseball to Cleveland-area youth, and more importantly to foster an appreciation for and attachment to the game and the Tribe. We feel these efforts are critical to growing the game," said Indians President Mark Shapiro. 

Camp Dates and Locations:

  • Twinsburg (Liberty Park): June 11 and 12
  • Broadview Heights (The Fields Memorial Park): June 13 and 14
  • Fairview Park (Bohlken Park): June 18 and 19
  • Mentor (Garfield Park): June 20 and 21
  • Avon (Veteran’s Memorial Park): June 25 and 26
  • Bath (Bath Baseball Park): June 27 and 28
  • Sandusky (Sandusky High School): July 9 and 10
  • Strongsville (Volunteer Park): July 30 and 31

Cost is $79 per two-day session.

The camp is from 10 a.m. to noon for 6-10 year olds and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for 11-14 year olds. Those who attend receive a free Indians T-shirt and two tickets to see the Indians take on the Houston Astros on Sept. 21 — which is Cleveland Indians Youth Baseball Day. 

Prior to that day’s game, each child is invited to participate in a pre-game parade around the warning track at Progressive Field. 

New This Year 

The Progressive Field of Dreams Camp, a three-day session at Progressive Field July 16, 17 and 19, is new this summer. The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day and campers will participate in drills on the field and in the team’s bullpen and indoor batting cages, while also getting a tour of the Visitors’ Clubhouse.  

All participants will receive an Indians flex-fit hat, T-shirt and a free on-field photo, as well as a report card with feedback and tips for improvement following the camp. The camp will cost $249 for the session, with registration available online at Indians.com/YouthBaseball.
