VIDEO: Copley Girls Lose To Green In Sectionals, 37-33

Senior Megan Rivera scores 15 points for the Lady Indians in the loss.

The Copley girls basketball team lost to Green High School, 37-33, in the first round of sectional play held Saturday morning at Akron Ellet High School.

The Lady Indians trailed the Bulldogs by 18 points at halftime (26-8), but rallied in the third quarter, outscoring Green 20-3. Trailing the Bulldogs by one entering the fourth quarter (29-28) was as close as Copley would get. Numerous mistakes and sloppy play down the stretch secured the victory for Green.

Senior Megan Rivera had a game-high 15 points for Copley (12-9 overall). Other contributors included seniors Hannah Seeman (9 points) and Taylor Reif (8), and junior Emma Fish (1).
