On May 20, the Girls on the Run of Greater Summit presented the Girls on the Run 5K at the Shaw JCC of Akron. The event had more than 1,200 participants including GOTR program participants, coaches, friends and family.

Robyn Cutler, Executive Director for Girls on the Run of Greater Summit, said, "I am still feeling fairly emotional from today’s event and am so proud of every one of our girls. My hope is that the girls will remember the challenge of today’s run and the feelings of power they felt when crossing the finish line – they can achieve anything they put their minds to!"

Special thanks goes to Michelle Mostow, race director, and Monica Peritt, operations director, who have been instrumental in the expansion and success of our Council.”

Girls on the Run of Greater Summit serves more than 450 girls at 29 different sites in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties. Their mission is "to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and content using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running."
