Bath Burns $3.8 Million in Bonds
Join Bath Township administrators and Trustees in a ceremonial burning of the $3.8 million bond used to purchase 404 acres of the Bath Nature Preserve in the late 90’s. The bond was retired early in December when residents gave the green light for an early payoff, saving the township $379,750 in interest and reducing taxes by .60 mills.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, March 19 beginning at 10:00 AM at the Bath Nature Preserve. Walk from the Ira Road parking lot to the University of Akron Field Station or hitch a ride on the University’s shuttle van from the trailhead. The burning will take place inside the restored Regal Beagle, a shelter used during the Ray Firestone fox hunt era. Refreshments will be served.
