Today's Go-Getter: Sean Ridings

Each week we feature a student from the Copley-Fairlawn or Revere school districts.

"Today's Go-Getter, Tomorrow's Leader" is a column that celebrates the children of the Copley-Fairlawn and Revere school districts. If you know an outstanding student, or have a Student of the Month in your midst, let us know. Email a photo and a description of what makes him or her great to megan.rozsa@patch.com.

We'll feature new students weekly. This week, we're honoring Sean Ridings, a fourth-grade student at He is the son of Joe and Tina Ridings.

We are pleased to announce Sean Ridings as Fort Island’s Student of the Month.  Sean is an outstanding student who comes to class each day with a smile on his face and a positive attitude.  He consistently puts forth great effort on each assignment which is evident by his near handwriting, thorough answers, and timely completion of his work!  Sean has not had one late assignment all year!  He is also quick to help his peers either in the classroom or on the playground.  Sean will notice if a fellow student does not have a partner for math games (classroom activities) and will be the first to invite them to join his group.  This past year Sean’s mother has returned to work and she commented at conferences on how well Sean has accepted the responsibility of doing his homework and chores without constant reminders.  His classroom behavior also reflects his high level of responsibility.  In his free time, Sean likes to play with friends and relax on the weekends.  He is active in Boy Scouts and he has signed up to play baseball in the spring.  Sean is a well-rounded student.  He juggles responsibilities well and demonstrates excellent character traits at all times.  We are so proud of Sean and we are happy to have him in our classroom.

Congratulations, Sean!
