Revere High School 2011 Commencement

Minutemen graduate 243 at at Akron Civic Theatre.

honored its 243 graduates in the Class of 2011 in the ornate Akron Civic Theatre. Eric Tretter was class valedictorian and co-salutatorians were John Ahlborg and Robert Zhang.


Graduate , who plans on studying computer engineering at Case Western University, said he was going to miss having all his friends in the same building, but was looking forward to making new friends in college, as well as keeping in touch his high school pals.


Paparella, who was in choir and started the debate team his sophomore year, said Revere was a great experience for him. “I had some wonderful teachers, made some really great friends and I just had a really good time,” he said.

Graduate Sarah Laferty, who is planning on attending the University of Dayton to study vocal performance, spent her time in high in many extra-curricular performing arts, winning multiple awards. She said she is devoted to her craft and wants to continue developing it.

While, like many, Laferty said she will my friends from high school, there are some things she won’t miss. “I won’t miss the high school mentality,” she said. “I will not miss people just looking at the surface.”

John Ahlborg, who plans to study pharmacology at the University of Pittsburgh this fall, said he had mixed feeling about graduation - he’ll be separating from people he’s known all his life, but he’s glad to get away from the rigid structure of high school.
