“It makes sense to keep ourselves together as a group,” Gifford said, rather than disbanding and coming back together when another issue arises.

, treasurer of the anti-levy group Citizens for Responsible School Administration, said during the run-up to the levy vote that his group was pushing for three new candidates to be placed on the board.

Gifford said the F.A.C.T.S. charter is about funding for the school district, and who sits on the board does not fall inside that parameter. He said he and other members of F.A.C.T.S. will be glad to meet with any incumbents or challengers to provide information the group has on the district, but it is no by means an endorsement.

“I’ll meet with anybody and tell them anything they need to know,” Gifford said.

In the mean time, the group will continue to stay active in the Revere community and attend administration meetings, such as Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting, and members will stay apprised of the district’s financial needs.

Revere Superintendent said he appreciates community groups like F.A.C.T.S., or, for example, booster organizations, staying involved in the schools.
“We really appreciate that support, that continued support, whether we have a levy or not,” he said. He said F.A.C.T.S. has embraced the need for the role of community outreach in making a strong school district.
