Police Ask Parents to Register Graduation Parties

If the department knows where and when graduation parties are being hosted — it is easier to execute a successful patrol plan for officers.

Revere High School's graduation is on June 2 at 11 a.m. at the Akron Civic Center and after that, several parties will be planned to laud student's accomplishments.

After all the preparations are done for the party, the Bath Township Police Department is asking party planners to do one more thing — register the party.

The Bath, Richfield, Copley and Fairlawn police departments are providing a courtesy service for persons hosting parties in their jurisdiction for graduating seniors, according to the Bath Township police department website.

"Efforts will be made to provide additional patrol to neighborhoods during events that are registered with the departments. This service may assist in making sure our young people have a safe graduation season. Officers will be checking for parking hazards, safety concerns and community welfare."
