Copley High Student Convicted in Assault

Videotaped confrontation was over racial slur, student said.

According to the Beacon Journal, Copley High School senior Christopher Sibley, 18, has been found guilty in an assault on another student captured by cell phone. 

The Jan. 28 confrontation took place at the school between Sibley, who is black and a white, 17-year-old junior.

Both students were suspended by the school.

Update: Sibley is currently undergoing a pre-sentence investigation. Sentencing will be set when the investigation is complete. No date is posted for the sentencing at this time.
