A 2012 Graduate with Honors: Xintong "Cindy" Lin

Cindy is a co-valedictorian at Revere High School.

Leading up to graduation, we'll feature the and seniors who will speak at commencement. On the day of graduation, we'll feature their profiles again, as well as publish their speeches. Both schools graduate on June 3 at 2 p.m.

This profile is on Revere High School co-valedictorian Xintong "Cindy" Lin. Cindy is heading off to the California Institute of Technology to study an undetermined branch of engineering.

Cindy: The whole environment, the teachers, my friends and just my classmates in general. I learned a lot from everyone.

P: What are you looking forward to in moving on to college?

C: I'm going to enjoy the weather, and I look forward to meeting people who share similar interests. I also look forward to finding new topics to explore.

P: What advice would you give to underclassmen?

C: Be motivated and take the hardest classes you can, but don't push yourself so hard that you don't have time to take extracurriculars. Those are fun, too.

P: What was your favorite high school class?

C: Physics

P: What clubs or extracurriculars were you involved in?

C: Math Honor Society, National Honor Society, Cross Country, Student Council, Science Olympiad and Academic Challenge

P: What are some of your high school accomplishments?

C: I had above a 4.0 GPA all four years, I lettered in cross country, I earned individual medals in Science Olympiad and I did research at Case Western University on C. elegans. I'll have a paper on them coming out soon.

P: Tell us a fun fact about you.

C: I react violently when something scares me like bees or bright lights. I am so scared of bees.
