Join us for the 7th Annual Hope Walk on Saturday, May 11. The Hope Walk Helps Keep Stewart's Caring Place: Cancer Wellness Center's Services Free-of-Charge

Stewart’s Caring Place: Cancer Wellness Center’s 7th Annual Hope Walk will take place on Saturday, May 11 in Fairlawn. Funds raised for this event allow Stewart’s Caring Place (SCP) to provide its services free-of-charge to those who have been affected by cancer in Summit, Portage, Wayne, Medina and Stark counties.

The Hope Walk is a 2.3-mile walk starting and ending at Fairlawn Community Center, Bicentennial Park, 3486 S. Smith Road in Fairlawn. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:15 a.m. Interested walkers can register online at StewartsCaringPlace.org for $15, by picking up a brochure at Stewart’s Caring Place, or on walk-day for $20.

“The Hope Walk is an amazing event. It’s great to see so many people from our community come together for a cause that has affected them so deeply,” says Raven DeVoll, SCP events coordinator.

“We’re so grateful to everyone who participates and helps raise funds for us. It’s because of their dedication and support that we’re able to continue Dr. Surloff’s  mission; to provide free support services to those who have been affected by cancer,” she said.

Sue Wilson and Tim Daugherty from Rubber City Radio Group are the emcees for the event, and The Swizzle Stick Band will entertain walkers with their Motown and 60s, 70s, 80s hits. Local musician Zack Freidhof will also perform for walkers at the water station, generously donated by Wayne Homes. Corn hole, face-painting, and other family fun activities will be available.
