Rothrock Road Trial: What You're Saying About the Case

You've been tuning in to the trial all week, and here's what you have to say.

The Copley v. Fairlawn Rothrock Road trial started last week and will continue at 9 a.m. this Friday. You tuned into our live feeds last week and didn't hold back with your comments.

We rounded up some of those comments for your viewing pleasure and we want to know if you agree with what others are saying. Tell us in the comments and then take our poll below.

: "Anyone who has spent anytime in the area and has driven the alternate route would know the closure of the road will not significantly impact the area. ODOT has stated Rothrock road is not designed to handle the amount of traffic that will occur if both WalMart and Sam's are built. The other routes are and have significantly more area for road expansion. The only thing this debate is doing is spending tax dollars and making the attorneys money. Close the road and be done with it."

: "Another bright idea and a complete waste of "our" hard earn tax dollars being spent. Looks like another county corruption is brewing. Who's ever bright minds and our board committee really need to have their heads checked. This is disgusting to us and our comunity, what a shame!"

: "It is my understanding that ODOT has no authority over Rothrock Road, it's a county road, not a state road. So their statement that Rothrock cannot handle the amount of traffic that will occur if Walmart & Sam's are built is purely their opinion. They should be more worried about the current and future condition of Cleveland Massillon Rd. That road cannot handle the amount of volume it receives now let alone if Rothrock closes. Priorities people."

Area Resident: "Not sure this helps Copley's case much.  Copley needs to prove that Fairlawn did this closure without much reason."

Partyshots67: "I don't understand why the Mayor of Fairlawn is wasting the taxpayers money on this when the residents of Rosemont are the ones complaining. They, the residents, should pay to install a gate system at the entrances of Rosemont at Cleveland-Massillon, Sawgrass at Rothrock and Rosemont at Rothrock - make themselves a little gated community, paid for by them, maintained by them, etc.  The residents on the Copley side will be left alone and Rothrock will remain open."

Guest: "It is ridiculous that BIG BUSINESS is more important that personal lives of the individuals who will be affected by 30,000 cars a day driving past their homes if Walmart moves in!"
