Road Rage Hit-Skip Leads to Chase, Arrest

A Bath Township man was spotted driving erratically on Interstate 77 south on April 25 before smashing into a victim's car and driving off, according to a

The victim told police Murray Simmons, 54, began driving his car aggressively and intentionally hit the side of the victim's car, knocked off a mirror, police said. Simmons continued on 77, exiting at Ghent Road, and eventually turning on Cleveland-Massillon Road.

Police said the victim continued following Simmons until police stopped him at Cleveland-Massillon and Wye roads.

Police asked Simmons if he was involved in the incident and he said he was "distraught" over what happened on 77, the report said.

Police charged Simmons with menacing, reckless operation and hit/skip, said Bath police Chief Michael McNeely.
