Photos of the Day: Fairlawn Community Garden is Open

A break in the rain finally gave the city time to open its first community garden.

Anxious local gardeners have been nursing seedlings and plants waiting to get into the soggy soil of Fairlawn's first community garden.

The city plowed and staked off 96 plots at Fairlawn Park on Ridgewood Road. Parks and Recreation Director said 31 plots are still available for sale.

Prices are $20 for Fairlawn Senior Citizens, $25 for residents and those who work in the city and $30 for non residents.
