Stage is Set for Ohio's 38th House District

Lynn Slaby (R) and Michael Kaplan (D) are running uncontested for Ohio's 38th House District.

Lynn Slaby (R-Copley) and Michael Kaplan (D-Peninsula) are Ohio's uncontested 38th District House seat candidates.

Lynn Slaby is a retired judge from the Ninth District Court of Appeals, and before that he served 14 years as the Summit County prosecuting attorney. If elected in the November general election, he would serve his second term.

Slaby lives with his wife and former state Rep. Marylin Slaby in Copley.

The uncontested Democrat candidate is Mike Kaplan, former mayor of the village of Peninsula.

Kaplan is a self-employed attorney and also served on the Peninsula Village Council. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from The State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook campus.
