October 1 Declared Chief Michael McNeely Day by Summit Co. Executive

McNeely was recognized at Monday's Bath Township Trustee meeting.

Summit County Executive Russ Pry has declared Oct. 1 as Chief Michael McNeely Day for the county from here on out.

A representative from Pry's office and a towship officer presented McNeely, who is chief of police in Bath, with a plaque at Monday's trustee meeting. McNeely has been chief since 2004.

"Chief, your good deeds have not gone unnoticed," Pry's representative said. "We declare today, Oct. 1, Chief Michael McNeely day and we encourage everyone to congratulate him."

When everyone at the meeting applauded, it was easy to see the surprise on McNeely's face.

"It's easy to do your job when you work with a great group of people," McNeely smiled. "I inherited a great group of people when I came in here. Thank you."
