Government Brief: Summit County Distributes Energy Grants

Fuel Fund Assistance Day will reach out to residents in need.

Summit County's Department of Community and Economic Development will host Fuel Fund Assistance Day for qualified FirstEnergy customers who need financial help with their utility bills from 8 am to 2 pm May 26 and June 23 at the Job Center, 1040 East Tallmadge Ave.  

Eligible residents will have an income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.  Anyone who have received fuel fund assistance in the last 12 months is not eligible. 

Those applying for the grant must bring proof of identification, proof of household income, proof of a delinquent electric balance and proof of a good faith effort to pay dated within the last 90 days.
