Five Things You Should Know Today

Fairlawn and Bath government offices, library, post office are closed today.

  • and the Fairlawn Service Department are closed today, as employees are given the day off since New Year's Day fell on a Sunday. Regular City Hall business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and service department hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. resume Tuesday and continue through Friday.
  • government offices are closed today, but will resume normal weekday business hours Tuesday. Since New Year's Day fell on a Sunday, there will be no delay in trash collection this week.
  • It’s business as usual from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. nearly every day this week at the Andrew E. Sombati Compactor/Recycle Center in Fairlawn, allowing residents to dispose of all the holiday-related trash that accumulated over the weekend.
  • is closed today, but will reopen Tuesday for its normal business hours of 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
  • Regular U.S. mail delivery/pickup and retail services are suspended today, as U.S. Postal Service employees get the day since New Year's Day fell on a Sunday.
