Candidate Statement:  During my time on Fairlawn City Council I have sought to keep our residents and their issues always in the forefront. We continue to have a problem with flooding in our area following heavy rains. While we have worked hard between Fairlawn, the City of Akron and the Summit County Engineer, this continues to be an ongoing issue that has yet to be resolved satisfactorily. Along with the flooding issue, we have many opportunities with our aging, whether it is the streets or utilities. A good number of streets in the city still need to be replaced. The city has had a program to replace streets without placing assessments on our property owners. In the tight municipal budgets of the past few years, we have had to scale back this program, but it needs to continue as soon and expeditiously as possible.

None of these issues are easy to take on. I have worked for many years both in and out of government to insure that Fairlawn is a great place to raise our families. With your vote Nov. 8, 2011, we can continue to move Fairlawn in that direction.
