Fairlawn and Bath Businesses Eligible for Energy Conservation Grant

Stimulus money funds county loan program for energy and operational savings.

Summit businesses can receive low-interest loans from the county to improve their energy consumption footprint. Among eligible projects and improvements are insulation, heating, venting and air conditioning (HVAC) units; lighting retrofits; weather sealing and window replacement.

The Energy Efficiency Block Grant Program is financed by the 2009 American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, so businesses must comply wit ARRA requirements.

Applicants must also prove the loan will pay for improvements to a company's current energy conservation efforts and provide an estimate of how much energy will be saved.
