Public meeting to discuss final Transportation Improvement Program, Ohio Turnpike issues

A public meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, May 12 at the Silver Lake Village Hall located at 2961 Kent Road in Silver Lake to discuss local and regional transportation issues. 

This meeting of the Citizens Involvement Committee of AMATS will include discussion regarding the final draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for Fiscal Years 2012 through 2015.  The TIP is the Greater Akron area’s four-year schedule of highway, public transit, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements totaling over $628 million.

The committee will also discuss recent proposals by state officials to lease or sell the Ohio Turnpike.
