City Council Preview: Police, Fire, Service Employee Contracts

Council will meet at 6:30 tonight at Fairlawn City Hall.

Fairlawn City Council will meet at 6:30 tonight in council chambers at to consider the following items:

  • Ordinances amending the 2010 measures which authorized just west of Sawgrass Drive and just east of the Copley Place retirement living center.
  • An ordinance amending , which represents full-time service department employees.
  • An ordinance amending the current collective bargaining agreement between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council Inc., which represents the Fairlawn Police Department's full-time patrol officers.
  • Two ordinances amending current collective bargaining agreements between the city and the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association and the police department's part-time patrol officers and communications specialists.
  • An ordinance amending the current collective bargaining agreement between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council Inc., which represents sergeants in the police department.
  • An ordinance amending, which represents full-time fire/medics holding the rank of lieutenant in the Fairlawn Fire Department.
  • An ordinance amending the current collective bargaining agreement between the city and the fire department's part-time employees.
  • An ordinance appointing John Sellars, recently retired service director, to the part-time, at-will unclassified position of special projects director in the service department.
  • An ordinance accepting the low bid of J&J Refuse for hauling trash from the Andrew E. Sombati Compactor and Recycling Facility to a designated site for 2012-2014, with an option for two years after that.
