Bath Trustees Take their Meeting on the Road

Students at Revere High School see government in action

 

Bath Township trustees held their meeting this week at Revere High School so government students could see their local leaders in action.

The trustees have a meeting at the school every year to help teach the students about local government, explaining the duties of Bath leaders and townships' role in Ohio.

After regular business is conducted, the trustees open the meeting to questions from the students to the police and fire chief and other department heads.

• How do you get a horse out of a pool (referring to a recent rescue by the Bath Fire Department when a horse fell through a pool cover)? "Believe it or not, it's not the first time it happened in Bath," Fire Chief Walt Hower replied. He said firefighters also had to get a horse out of a pool about 23 years ago. In the most recent case, about eight men actually lifted the horse and slid it out.
