Bath Trustees Go Paperless at Meetings

Bath Townnship Trustees took a technological step forward this week by going paperless at their bi-monthly meeting.

Trustees are replacing bulky meeting agenda packets with iPads, saving an estimated 325 pieces of paper per meeting.

"It's going to make us more efficient and also save money," Trustee Elaina Goodrich said.

Visitors at the meetings will still be able to pick up paper agendas. But legislation packets for trustees, administrators and the press are now emailed rather than printed.

At Tuesday's meeting -- the first with iPads instead of paper -- Trustee James Nelson drew a laugh when he paused during a vote with an announcement.

"I just figured out how to make the print larger," he said.

Trustee Becky Corbett said last-minute agenda revisions used to require reprinting pages, but can the changes can be easily made on the documents.

"It's going to streamline things and, hopefully, save a tree or two every meeting day," she said.
