Bath Park Board to Deliver State of Parks Address

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on March 15.

The Bath Township Park Board has an exciting year ahead, and residents can learn more about it at the State of the Parks Address at 7 p.m. on March 15 at the University of Akron Field Station at the .

Park board member Kathy Sidaway said residents can expect to hear more about the future of the parks and how the board intends to use a grant to build a fishing catch and release deck at Bath Pond.

"Once funding is received (barring financial cuts) work will begin on the deck and an access path at the Nature Preserve," Sidaway said.

Wetland conservation work is also underway at the "Garden Bowl." Sidaway said.

There will also be presentations from Elaina Goodrich on the history of the parks; Mike Rorar on park improvements and upcoming projects; Greg Smith on the research and studies at the field station; and updates on the activities planned for the parks.

Afterward there will be a bonfire and light refreshments at the Regal Beagle.

"Bath residents are so fortunate to have four very diverse parks so close at hand," Sidaway said. "Hundreds of people use the parks and yet we occasionally hear from a community member who has never stepped foot in one.  We hope that by making people aware of what our parks offer, more people will make a point to visit."
