Two Car Break-Ins, One Stolen Car: Bath Police Blotter

On July 7, three cars — two from the , one from the Courtyard Inn — were broken into and the steering column was stripped, according to .

One of the cars, a Chrysler Grand Voyager, was stolen from the lot some time overnight, said Chief Michael McNeely.

In the first incident, a woman reported someone had forced her passenger side window open, crawled in and stripped the steering column. The attempt to start the car was unsuccessful and nothing was stolen, the police report said.

In the second report, a woman who stayed at the Courtyard reported someone opened her passenger side rear window and stripped the steering column. When they couldn't start the car, they stole her GPS and 50 CDs, the report said.

Lastly, the suspect tried the Grand Voyager. It was stolen from the lot, and McNeely said Cleveland Heights police found it later that day. Police also found an abandoned car from Cleveland Heights in the parking lot that was reported stolen.

McNeely said police were able to gather prints off the recovered Voyager and the van left in the parking lot. The prints are being sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

McNeely said police do have a suspect, but he has not been officially linked to the crimes.
