Why does it take Patch 10 days to report these incidents? It would be much more helpful to hear about it sooner.

Hi Jerry, Thanks for reading! I took time off over the holidays and was unable to go to the three police departments I cover to get reports during that time. It left me a little behind, but I'm getting this information out to residents as fast as I can! Please remember, also, that there is usually a couple of days' lag time between a crime and when the police department publishes the day's crime logs - so when I go to the department once a week, the oldest reports I get are sometimes close to ten days old: one week since the last time I checked, plus a couple days of lag time. (I might check the logs tomorrow and the latest reports are from Sunday, which means that I won't see Monday's reports until NEXT Wednesday.) I hope that makes sense.

Huh? "A caller reported that someone stole from his car parked overnight at the 1600 block of Hillcrest Road."
