Kent Man Charged with Assaulting Police Officer
The case of a Kent man charged with assaulting a police officer has been bound over for review by the Portage County grand jury.
Kent Police charged Anthony W. Repasky, 21, of 3586 Sunnybrook Road, with assaulting a police officer, a fourth-degree felony, after an early morning incident in downtown Kent.

Police arrested Repasky just before 3 a.m. on July 7 outside Stone Tavern.
Repasky is charged with assaulting Kent Police officer Josh Nelson, according to the original criminal complaint filed in Portage County Municipal Court.

He was released on bond July 19, and his case has since been bound over for review in Portage County Common Pleas Court by the grand jury, which will likely consider indictment on the charge.
Suspected Heroin User Found Unconscious in Gas Station Bathroom
Cuyahoga Falls police arrested Curt D. Lukens, 33, of Stow, on July 24 after officers found him passed out in the Sheetz gas station men's room.Police reported he was in possession of a hypodermic needle and a burnt spoon.
Lukens was charged with drug abuse instruments, a first-degree misdemeanor, and drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He was taken to Summa Western Reserve Hospital.
Officers then spotted Lukens' friend Alexis R. Hewko, 28, of Akron, in the parking lot, and found she was in possession of a burnt spoon and heroin.
Hewko was arrested and charged with drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, and drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

Man With Plastic Sword Draws Police Attention, Now Faces Drug Charge
A Berkeley Road resident saw something walking down her road that made her uncomfortable: A man carrying a sword, according to a Cleveland Heights Police Department report.The woman flagged down a Cleveland Heights police officer on July 26 to alert the officer about the sword-weilding man. The police approached the man.
It turns out the sword was just plastic, but while investigating, the police officer discovered the man had marijuana in his possession.
The man now faces a misdemeanor drug charge.
STRONGSVILLE PATCH
Resident Tackles Suspect in Driveway During Car Break-In
A minor drama unfolded on Idlewood Trail shortly after midnight July 26 when a resident saw someone breaking into his car.When police arrived, the man had the suspect — a 30-year-old woman — apprehended and waiting for handcuffs.
Detective Lt. John Janowski said the family has a video surveillance system, saw the suspect entering the car, and a father and son ran outside.
The dad tackled the suspect and held her until police arrived. He suffered a gash on his chin, but refused medical treatment.
Officers found a purse at the scene that had been stolen from another car on Idlewood.
That handbag was returned to the owner, who found a gold Gucci watch inside that did not belong to her.
She turned the watch over to police until the owner can be found.
The suspect listed her address as Metrick's Motel on Pearl Road. Janowski said she faces a fifth-degree felony for allegedly stealing the purse, which contained credit cards, and a first-degree misdemeanor for aggravated trespass.
