Teen Sees Intruder Breaking In: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Fairlawn Police Department

A Kenridge Road family had a scary night May 21 when someone tried to walk into their house.

A resident told police her 16-year-old daughter was sitting at the kitchen table, with the lights on, about 10:30 p.m. -- with other family members in the living room -- when she heard the kitchen door open.

She looked and saw a hand on the doorknob as the door swung open, a report said.

The intruder apparently saw her, slammed the door and fled.

The teen only saw the hand, but told police it appeared to belong to a black man.

An investigation is continuing.

Computers Found

A man went to the police station May 21 to turn in two computers he found in the street.

Both laptops were in black cases. The man said he found them at Kenridge and Bancroft roads.

He went to the nearest house to see if they belonged there before turning them in.
