Shoplifter Has 43 Items in Her Coat; Panhandlers Fight Over Spot: Bath Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath Township Police Department

 

Employees at Five Below called police about 1:40 p.m. April 13 for a shoplifting in progress.

When police arrived, they apprehended a woman fleeing on foot.

Once caught, the woman reached inside her coat and handed over 37 video games, five DVDs and a flashlight.

The items were valued at $215. The woman, 35, was charged with theft and the merchandise was returned to the store.

Turf War

A dispute between two panhandlers over a spot on North Cleveland-Massillon Road turned violent April 13, a report said.

Police said one of the men pulled a pocket knife and opened the blade as the two argued over who would get the spot outside Speedway.

The man who didn't pull the knife won the argument -- the other was arrested for aggravated menacing.

Car Break-In

A Springside Drive resident reported someone forced his way into a vehicle and took $60 from a purse, plus some change.

The thief broke the door handle to get in.

The theft was reported April 13.

Phone Stolen

A Revere Middle School student's iPhone was stolen from her book bag at the school April 12, a report said.

Once You Move . . .

A Smith Road resident called police April 11 after the former owner of his house showed up, demanding to be let in to retrieve some items he had left behind.

After police arrived, the new owner agreed to let the man in to get some clothing and a car, but said he was not welcome back after that.
