Second Foot Chase Ends in Arrest: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Fairlawn Police Department

When a Fairlawn police officer and a man with a felony warrant spotted each other on Miller Road July 9, the chase was on.

A report said the man, who was wanted for violating probation on a robbery charge, was walking on the sidewalk, but took off when he saw the police car.

It wasn't the first time. On June 21, the man fled from police, running into the woods near Fort Island Park.

This time, the officer called in back-up from his own department, Bath and Copley, who all pursued the suspect on foot.

A Fairlawn officer located the man in a back yard on Hampshire Road a short time later. He was arrested without further incident.

In addition to being sent to Summit County Jail on the warrant, he was also charged with two counts of obstructing official business -- one for that incident, and one for the June 21 chase.
