Return Trips Trip Up Shoplifter: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Fairlawn Police Department

A woman at Summit Mall got away with two thefts from Lenscrafters, but the third visit was a charm -- for police.

A report said an employee saw the woman place two pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses on a fixture in the store May 31, walk away, then come back, take the glasses and leave the store.

A few minutes later, she did the same thing with two other pairs of sunglasses.

The next day, a mall security guard spotted the same woman shoplifting from Gymboree, the report said.

When confronted, she admitted to stealing three times from Lenscrafters in the past -- with the stolen merchandise totaling $4,600.

Close Parking Spot Doesn't Deter Theft

A shopper at Sam's Club told police he parked his car in a handicapped spot at 6 p.m. June 1 and came out an hour later to find someone had stolen his rear license plate and bracket.
