No Parking
Police officers spotted a car parked in a handicapped spot April 27, with no placard visible.
When officers stopped the car -- the driver put on a left-turn signal, then made a right turn out of the parking lot -- the driver did produce a handicapped parking placard.
However police ran the registration number and determined it was fake.
The driver was cited for parking in a handicapped spot and for having a phony placard.
Car Fire Leads to Arrest
A vehicle fire brought police to Medina Road at Crystal Lake Road about 11:45 p.m. April 26.
When officers arrived, they found a man sitting in the vehicle. He refused to give his name, then had difficulty retrieving his license from his wallet, a report said.
After the Fire Department took care of the fire, the man registered a .346 blood-alcohol reading on a breath test -- more than four times the legal limit for driving.
He was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired.
